I focus on humanistic storytelling. I’m deeply curious, competent, and empathetic. I’m skilled at making dense content more accessible and lyrical. I sift through noisy, irrelevant details to get to the golden nugget of a story. And everything is story—a novel or memoir or essay, artist or founder portraits, a grant application or proposal or academic publication, a business’s brand. My goal is always to enhance clarity in the language so that the heart of the story has a strong beat.

Developmental Editing
Reviewing a manuscript from a holistic, broad perspective. Focuses on editing for big picture items such as structure, organization, character development, pacing, tension, plot, theme, and genre positioning.
Copyediting and Line Editing
Close edit at the word and sentence level. Focuses on editing for grammar, punctuation, spelling, word choice, style, voice, and other mechanics of language.
Consulting
Includes one-off sessions, retainers, and multiple sessions. Help with navigating processes related to writing, editing, publishing, and research, including for proposals, grants, and other funding opportunities. Help, too, with developing, refining, and completing works in progress.
Photography
My aim is to make images that are soulful and poetic. Not disposable content but fine art to sit with and revel in.
I weave in my eye for detail, composition, texture, and color to refract what I see in this big, beautiful prismatic world.
I love capturing the essence of a moment through making portraits—of founders, artists, makers, graduates, mothers, and others—and through making snapshots of scenes of daily life across the world: a shopkeeper in Kathmandu, Quechua women weaving in the Peruvian Andes, skaters in Venice Beach.
I enjoy working especially with artists, musicians, founders, makers, and overall creatives, as well as retreat spaces, boutique hotels, bespoke travel companies, and nature and outdoors brands.
